Blog Award and a Simple Thought!

The weekend has arrived and is extra special because of two things:

1.) Having 100 followers!!

I am so grateful for the way blogging helpes me connect with incredible people whom I would not have met otherwise. You all keep me motivated and inspired!!

2.) A blog award from the lovely Miss Ali!

I am passing this on to:

Check out these great blogs if you haven't already :)

Now, a closing thought for the weekend.....

It is so easy to berate yourself for all the things you didn't do in a day: laundry, writing, a phone call, reading....

But maybe it's okay to give yourself credit for what you have done, even if it's something simple, just because it got you through the hours---like watching a funny television show, thanking someone, smiling, laughing...

So many times, we feel guilty for the present: I shouldn't be wasting so much time doing this or that.

But sometimes, those moments can be the most refreshing and relaxing; the ones that add variety to our routines, making even the "in betweens" worthwhile

  1. Thank you Saumya! You totally deserve the award! And your thoughts are very true and I need to remind myself of them. Thank you for those words, too!

  2. thanks for the linky Saumya! and you deserve the award! i love ur blog, its pretty and inspirational so congratulations on the 100 followers! well done- hopefully i'll get there soon too :) lovely closing off point too! ive been writing all day, and feel guilty for stopping, but we have to remember thats its okay to have lives too- we write about life and if we dont live it too how can we truly write about it? love your stuff xxxx

  3. Very interesting! We definetly need to be happier with the little things more often =)

  4. First, Congrats on 100 followers! That's AWESOME!

Thanks for the award! But do you know what this means? I am now a hoarder again!

Nice reminder about cutting ourselves a break! We (ahem I) am so much more generous with others than I am with myself. hmmmm. I could probably use some therapy, hahaha

  5. Congrats on your 100+ followers! And thanks for passing on an award to me!!! It's so pretty!

I love your closing thought. So true! Sometimes it is okay to not get everyone done on our to-do lists (as long as we're not lazy like that every day, lol). It's important to congratulate ourselves for what we do accomplish! Thanks for the reminder.

Hope you're having a great weekend, Saumya!

  6. YAY on your followers-- happy to be one and to see your progress on this break:)

  7. Congratulations on your followers and your award. Thanks for passing it on to me. And congrats to the other award receivers.

You are so right - it's easy to make a list of what we haven't done so let's remind ourselves what we have done.

  8. Saumya, it's so nice to connect with you! I love your perspective in this post. Plus, when we're doing these other things, maybe creative gnats will pop in on us and solve plot problems or give us quirky characters.

I absolutely love your blog title - the quarter life crisis. That's great!

  9. Congrats on the award :)

I agree - we spend far too much time on regrets and apologies and guilt. Gotta get over that and enjoy life - it's far too short to do anything else.

  10. Hey, just stumbled across your blog from 'Love Miss Ali' and I must say, I love your blog! :) Consider me a new follower!

    And the plot thickens...

  11. Thanks so much, everyone!! I'm trying not to feel guilty today as I put off writing for some nice television watching :)

  12. I completely agree with you that we should allow ourselves some time just to live, rather than always worrying about getting something done. I know, I'm always late to the party, but congrats on your 100 followers.

  13. Congrats on the award and the followers - big YAY!

And you're so right. Sometimes we just need to live in the moment and not feel guilty about it.

  14. Thanks so much! I hope I can be better about this myself!

  15. Aww, I really needed to hear this tonight. Didn't accomplish anything useful today (other than unloading the dishwasher and writing a blog) and was feeling sort of guilty about it. But darn it, it was a good day!!

  16. good to be here; cheers n congrats

  17. Congrats on the 100 followers! And we do tend to dwell on what we didn't do. (Or at least I do) and not what we did get done. Very true!

  18. Well said. Yeah, so called wasting time activities are the ones which keeps us moving forward. Later, so called activities dons some meaning. Many felt that i was wasting time chatting or moderating a forum, now today i feel i learned alot from countless people. For my writing it has been a great impact.

  19. Well forgot to tell." Congrats"!
